The Government affirms that the Hytera TETRA Radio Communications system is among the best in Latin America.

The Mendoza Emergency Communications network occupies almost 85% of Mendoza. The last extension was presented in June of last year.

Mendoza has one of the most advanced emergency communications systems in Latin America. This was confirmed by the Ministry of Security when reporting that the TETRA platform, the network that connects the Police, Firefighters, Health and other emergency services in Mendoza, currently covers approximately 85 percent of the provincial territory.

As explained by the director of IT and Communications of the Ministry of Security and Justice, Leandro Biskupovich;

“the TETRA network of the province of Mendoza is one of the most robust and extensive in Latin America. In our province it is made up of a coverage ring that has 60 sites.”

The TETRA communications platform works uninterruptedly 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and integrates all security and emergency forces, such as police, SEC, municipalities, roads, police and firefighters, among others.

In this sense, Biskupovich indicated:

“The platform is of vital importance, since when an emergency call is entered to 911 and an event is generated, the emergency forces communicate internally through the system for resolution. It offers subscribers from different agencies, and each of them is georeferenced in the province.”

Network Coverage

In 2023, the TETRA system achieved a coverage level of close to 85 percent. The government noted that there are few provinces with this level of coverage, stressing the expansion applied to the platform the previous year. In June, the Ministry of Security and Justice opened the Poti Malal and Las Loicas sites in Malargüe, completing the communication coverage up to the Paso Pehuenche International Corridor, which borders Chile.

The way technology is advancing today is quite remarkable. It is truly amazing to consider the progress that has been made in a relatively short amount of time. People are now able to access and utilize technology in a number of ways, leading to a more convenient lifestyle. What's more, the development of technology is continuing to occur at a rapid rate, making it hard to keep up.
