Metro Ligero Oeste and Teltronic have renewed for one year the maintenance contract for the TETRA radio communications network.

Metro Ligero Oeste and Teltronic have renewed for one year the maintenance contract for the TETRA radio communications network that provides voice and data services to the ML2 and ML3 lines, which connect the municipalities of Boadilla del Monte, Alcorcón and Pozuelo de Alarcón with Madrid, its Metro, commuter and bus networks.

The network, based on Teltronic’s NEBULA TETRA infrastructure, is used for voice communications between the command and control centre and the train drivers, security and maintenance personnel. It also supports the transmission of train-ground data, including those of the Intelligent Transport System (ITS), which is carried out through the Teltronic on-board terminals with which the company has equipped the trains.

Since its deployment in 2007, the network has been maintained and extended on several occasions to adapt to the needs of the concessionaire. With the latest contract, maintenance is guaranteed until the end of August 2024.
