As many as 30,000 emergency network radio terminals across Norway must be reprogrammed as a result of county and municipal reforms.

DSB announced that it has started to reprogram about 30.000 Nødnett TETRA radios.  The upgrade of the radios are done by two of DSB's customer contacts that currently drive around the counties of Troms and Finnmark with motorhomes to carry out necessary updates with voluntary organizations and other actors with emergency and emergency response responsibilities. This is teh way, how the users of the Norwegian Emergency Network get to meet Nødnett customer representatives, who are usually based in the city of Oslo.

Setting up one-on-one meetings are a good solution during the corona pandemic, and a good alternative to gathering larger groups in cities. This new 'reprogram initiative' allows DSB to stay in close contact with each customer and meet them where they carry out their tasks. It provides a good  opportunity for direct dialogue and the opportunity to hear more about how Nødnett works in the users' local environment.

During the visits DSB representatives maintain distance requirements and infection control measures

Merging municipalities and changing county and municipality numbers affect the talk group structure in Nødnett and the reprogramming gives customers updated talk groups.
