NEC Software Solutions Acquires Cadcorp to Strengthen Geospatial Intelligence Capabilities

The integration of Cadcorp’s technology with NEC’s established platforms is expected to enable a more connected, data-driven approach for customers, enhancing responsiveness and strategic decision-making.

NEC Software Solutions UK (NECSWS) has announced the acquisition of Cadcorp, a prominent UK-based provider of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and web mapping software. The acquisition is set to enhance NEC’s ability to deliver advanced, location-based intelligence solutions for local authorities, public safety organisations, and other public sector bodies both in the UK and internationally.

Cadcorp, established in 1991, has earned a strong reputation for delivering flexible, interoperable geospatial solutions tailored to the needs of public sector organisations. Its flagship platform, Cadcorp SIS, is widely deployed across diverse sectors including emergency services, government, land and property, energy, infrastructure, social housing, finance, and the environment. These solutions support improved service delivery, greater accessibility, and enhanced operational performance.

By joining NEC, Cadcorp brings significant expertise in spatial data analysis, cloud-hosted mapping solutions, and geospatial consultancy. The integration of Cadcorp’s technology with NEC’s established platforms is expected to enable a more connected, data-driven approach for customers, enhancing responsiveness and strategic decision-making.
