TCCA Announces Formation of New Asia Regional Group

Working group established following board approval to strengthen critical communications collaboration across Asia.

TCCA (The Critical Communications Association) has announced the formation of a new working group, the Asia Regional Group (Asia RG), following a series of gatherings among TCCA industry members based in Asia and subsequent approval by the TCCA Board.

The establishment of the Asia RG reflects the growing number of private and public sector end users across the region embarking on major digital transformation programs, for which secure, resilient and trusted connectivity will be essential. Stakeholders involved in business and mission-critical communications are seen as central to building Digital Nation capability across government, public safety and disaster response, as well as critical infrastructure sectors including public carriers, transport, utilities, energy and major industrial and manufacturing operations.


The Group was formally established at a meeting hosted by Nokia at its APAC headquarters in Singapore and led by TCCA CEO Kevin Graham, where industry members convened both in person and remotely to complete the formation of the Group.


Membership of the Asia RG has elected the following leadership:

  • Chair: Alain Ruinet, Head of Asia Pacific at Airbus Public Safety and Security
  • Vice-Chair: Enrique Garcia Martinez, Head of Enterprise and Mission Critical Networks, India, South-East Asia and Oceania, at Ericsson
  • Vice-Chair: Terence Ledger, Regional Director, APAC, Middle East and Africa, at Sepura

TCCA extended thanks to all member organizations actively supporting the Group and its ongoing work.

TCCA and the Asia RG stated they look forward to fostering deeper engagement and information exchange on open standards-based critical communications, spanning narrowband, broadband and non-terrestrial capability, in collaboration with end users across the region. The involvement of Asia is regarded as an important factor in shaping and supporting the global evolution of hybrid critical communications solutions, aimed at delivering the capability end users need to build safer societies.
