ICOM UK Radio Systems Support Safe Running of 2026 NSSA National Youth Regatta

ICOM UK Ltd, a provider of professional radio communications equipment, has highlighted the communications setup supporting the P&B NSSA National Youth Regatta 2026, hosted this week by Downs Sailing Club in association with the Kent Schools Sailing Association (KSSA) at Deal, Kent. The event, one of the United Kingdom's leading fixtures on the youth sailing calendar, is being run with the support of a combined LTE and VHF radio network designed to maintain safe and reliable coordination between race management and emergency response teams on the water and ashore.

Patrol and mark-laying boats operating on the water are equipped with ICOM IP503H LTE handsets, which connect to IP501M LTE base station units positioned at race control, providing flexible, wide-area coverage for day-to-day race management. Ashore, HM Coastguard teams are using vehicle-mounted IC-F5022VM VHF mobile units to maintain contact with land-based search and rescue teams, maritime agencies and emergency services, ensuring continuity of communication between on-water operations and shore-based emergency response.
