ACMOSS Demonstrates SYRIUS Critical Communications Application

Curated by: Gert Jan Wolf - Editor-in Chief for The Critical Communications Review

On Wednesday, July 30, 2025, the municipal police of the city of Fleury-les-Aubrais welcomed ACMOSS officers, a representative from the Loiret Prefecture, and municipal police officers from Orléans Métropole, the Montargoise urban area, and the cities of Orléans, Montargis, St-Jean-de-Braye, and Pithiviers to their premises for an operational demonstration of the Radio Network of the Future (RRF).

The Loiret department is also embarking on the deployment of the Radio Network of the Future (RRF) across its territory.

The operational demonstration allowed for the testing of several key features of the SYRIUS critical communications application such as:

  • Video transmission;
  • Mapping;
  • Geolocation;
  • Interoperability;
  • Distress call.

Users were able to see the fit between the RRF's concrete offerings and their operational needs, even beyond the everyday. Furthermore, they are fully aware of the versatility of the RRF terminals and that this modern means of critical communications will allow them to better coordinate with all other security and rescue stakeholders during their operations. Enthusiastic future users also noted the significant improvement in the safety conditions of their personnel.

The next step will be to expand the deployment of the Radio Network of the Future to the SDIS 45, SAMU 45, civil security, and certain Vital Importance Operators (OIV) in the Loiret department.

"We will be taking charge of organizing a larger meeting at the departmental level very soon, in order to involve all stakeholders in the rescue and security chain."

Mr. Thevelein, Defense and Civil Security Manager, Office of the Prefect of Loiret
