Icom's Audited Annual Report 2026 Confirms Domestic Rebalancing as Land Mobile Radio Anchors 44.8 Percent of Group Sales

The Osaka-based radio manufacturer's newly published, EY-audited annual disclosure for the year ended 31 March 2026 details a widening gap between resilient domestic performance and a swing to operating loss in the Americas.

Icom Incorporated (TSE: 6820), the Osaka-headquartered manufacturer of land mobile, amateur, marine, aviation and navigation radio communication equipment, has published its Annual Report 2026, covering the fiscal year ended 31 March 2026. The report, confirmed by an unqualified audit opinion from Ernst & Young ShinNihon LLC dated 6 August 2026, sets out consolidated net sales of ¥36,959 million, down 1.4 percent from ¥37,468 million a year earlier, alongside operating income of ¥2,913 million, a 21.7 percent decline from ¥3,722 million in the prior fiscal year.

The report's Financial Highlights show profit before income taxes of ¥3,373 million and profit attributable to owners of the parent of ¥2,665 million, against ¥3,914 million and ¥2,951 million respectively in fiscal 2025. Net assets per share stood at ¥5,092.59, up from ¥4,693.31, while basic profit per share eased to ¥185.69 from ¥205.63. Cash dividends for the fiscal year were set at ¥75.00 per share, down from ¥83.00; a ¥50.00 per share final distribution, totalling ¥718 million, was formally approved at the company's general shareholders' meeting on 24 June 2026, a disclosed subsequent event not yet reflected in the FY2026 financial statements.

Geographically, the report's Operating Highlights point to a pronounced rebalancing toward the domestic market. By customer destination, overseas sales fell to ¥23,433 million, or 63.4 percent of consolidated turnover, down from 66.6 percent a year earlier, while sales to Japanese customers rose to ¥13,526 million, or 36.6 percent of the total, from 33.4 percent in fiscal 2025. Within overseas markets, the Americas — a segment redefined this year to incorporate Latin America and the Caribbean — accounted for ¥11,311 million, or 30.6 percent of sales, followed by Europe (EMEA) at ¥6,611 million, or 17.9 percent, and Asia & Oceania at ¥5,511 million, or 14.9 percent. Under the Group's separate geographic segment reporting, organized by operating entity, the North America segment swung to an operating loss of ¥388 million from an operating profit of ¥133 million the prior year, while the Japan segment generated ¥2,830 million in operating income and the Europe segment's operating income rose 33.3 percent to ¥220 million.

The report's Business Outline section details Icom's product composition for the year: land mobile wireless communication equipment, the group's largest professional category, accounted for 44.8 percent of the ¥36.96 billion in consolidated sales, followed by options at 20.1 percent, amateur radio at 15.0 percent, marine equipment at 10.8 percent, avionics at 6.2 percent, network equipment at 2.2 percent, and navigation products at 1.0 percent.
