Martin Whittaker Appointed Chairman of Radiocoms
Radiocoms has announced the appointment of Martin Whittaker as its new Chairman, bringing more than four decades of leadership experience in safety-critical industries to the UK-based critical communications specialist.
Whittaker joins Radiocoms following his tenure as Executive Chairman and CEO of the Mettis Group, a precision engineering business serving the aerospace and defence sectors. Prior to that role, he served as CEO of Survitec Aerospace and Defence, a global leader in survival and safety technology supplying military, commercial aviation and marine markets worldwide.
His extensive career in mission-critical environments also includes a position as Security Sector Board Member at ADS Group, the United Kingdom's principal trade organisation representing the aerospace, defence, security and space industries. In that capacity, Whittaker contributed to shaping policy and industry direction across one of the country's most strategically important sectors.
Mark Blythe, CEO, Radiocoms, said:
“Martin’s depth of experience will help us build on the strong foundations we have in place. His background means he understands the world our customers operate in, and we are really looking forward to working with him as we enter this next chapter for Radiocoms.”
The appointment underlines Radiocoms' continued focus on serving customers operating in environments where reliability and safety are paramount. Whittaker's background spanning aerospace, defence and security aligns closely with the company's core market segments, which include public safety, transportation, utilities, manufacturing and other sectors dependent on resilient voice and data communications.
Radiocoms is recognised in the United Kingdom as a long-standing provider of professional mobile radio and broadband solutions, with a portfolio encompassing TETRA, DMR, MCX and broadband push-to-talk technologies. The company supports organisations requiring secure, mission-critical communications across operational and field environments.
Whittaker's appointment is expected to support the company's strategic development as the critical communications sector navigates the ongoing transition toward broadband-enabled and converged communications solutions.
