Michigan’s first responders are getting a major boost in their wireless communications with the addition of new, purpose-built FirstNet cell sites and other network enhancements. This new infrastructure is a part of the FirstNet network expansion taking place across the state, bringing increased coverage, capacity and capabilities for public safety.

“The demands on first responders are intense. Clear, reliable and coordinated communication between agencies and officials can often make the difference in an emergency situation,” said Wayne County Sheriff Benny Napoleon. “FirstNet is a first of its kind tool and a crucial one for everyone serving our residents in times of emergency.”
