Orion Labs, the leading voice-first, intelligent collaboration platform that empowers deskless workers, announced Maplewood Senior Living has selected Orion to strengthen communications across teams, improve command-and-control dispatch, and institute an emergency alert response protocol.

Maplewood’s senior living portfolio focuses on creating unique, high-end experiences for senior residents and includes 16 properties throughout Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, and Ohio. Maplewood’s Inspīr Carnegie Hill offers a new concept in luxury senior living focused on providing exceptional care by combining expertise and insights from residential, hospitality, and healthcare spaces.

Maplewood’s world-class staff and residences provide the highest quality of care by embracing modern technology’s advantages. It’s newest 27-floor Inspīr property needed a best-of-breed collaboration solution to support a variety of critical communications needs across its care staff, engineers, maintenance team, and senior management — from safety alerts to facilities updates, to handling other dynamic situations that require immediate action. The company sought a high-quality, multi-modal alternative to unreliable radios’ limited to two-way communication. The solution also needed to run on both Wi-Fi and cellular data without quickly draining the batteries of company-provided iPhones and iPads — a problem they faced with their legacy push-to-talk (PTT) provider.

“Orion’s reliable Wi-Fi and cellular data-based collaboration platform will support our Inspīr staff throughout their daily activities, both onsite and offsite, as we provide the highest level of care for our residents,” said Tom Caprio, Director of Information Technology of Maplewood Senior Living. “Orion’s system provides the communications functionality, dispatch capabilities, and safety procedure workflows that our staff need to ensure that our residents’ lives are safer, happier, and healthier.”

Orion’s web dispatch console with advanced location services will track staff activity throughout the building and support management in deploying additional resources when and where they are needed, including in urgent and dynamic situations. Inspīr will also deploy Orion’s voice-enabled emergency and safety bots that trigger workflows designed to better serve residents and keep staff safe.
