ESChat’s secure Push to Talk (PTT) application has achieved FirstNet’s highest level of validation, “FirstNet Certified.”

In 2017, the First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet) launched its Application Ecosystem to foster innovation in public safety. The key piece of the ecosystem is an App Store containing certified apps which are offered at two levels of validation: FirstNet Reviewed and the more stringent FirstNet Certified. The FirstNet Certification process is performed as a joint effort by FirstNet and AT&T.

The initial launch of FirstNet service includes Quality of Service, Priority and Preemption (QPP) for all applications. Beyond the initial launch phase, FirstNet will only provide QPP to “FirstNet Certified” applications.

“Our participation in the ‘FirstNet Certified’ program ensures our public safety users will have access to the QPP benefits of FirstNet,” said Josh Lober, President, ESChat. “Having participated in many FirstNet special events, we are keenly aware that QPP will be a key differentiator assuring public safety access to reliable communication under the most stressed network conditions.”

The FirstNet App Store provides all FirstNet subscribers access to FirstNet approved applications. These applications are also able to integrate FirstNet provided APIs, enabling features such as Single Sign-on (SSO).
