Cloudstreet and RogerTM-GPS showed first time in market how any commercial 4G/LTE network can support critical level connectivity for public safety through Local Control functionality.

As part of the Critical Communications Finland demonstration of the future critical communications Cloudstreet and RogerTM-GPS showed first time in market how any commercial 4G/LTE network can support critical level connectivity for public safety through Local Control functionality.

In the demonstration, standard LTE network was used as the radio access, RogerTM-GPS provided syncronisation signal base through its GNSS repeater enabling base station to be installed almost anywhere and the Cloudstreet Local Control Software made it possible to manage single user’s QoS parameters based on user request securing required critical data communication capacity.

The demonstration was part of the TCCA Broadband Group (CCBG) plenary 16 that takes place in 25-27th October in Espoo, Finland hosted by TCCA member Nokia.

Mika Skarp, CTO, Cloudstreet “Local control software enables guaranteed service level to a critical communications user on the field – the provided trust is the key for information – in particular video – intensive way of working. In practise, this gives the benefits of networks slicing today over 4G/LTE networks.”

Simo Ruoko (pictured), Managing Director, RogerTM-GPS ”We’re delighted that we can together implement a COTS solution to provide broadband critical level connectivity both in commercial 4G/LTE network as well as critical communication networks like FirstNet. Being the biggest European manufacturer of GNSS repeaters and accessories our major market has been public safety and time syncronisation.”
