Large Attendance at Hytera Global Public Safety & Security Seminar in Beijing

Hytera Public Safety & Security (PSS) Communications Seminar was held in China National Convention Center, Beijing, on May 19, with the presence of more than 400 delegates from nearly 20 countries.

This PSS themed seminar is the third stop of a global tour, Hytera Worldwide 360° Seminar 2016, following Las Vegas and Dubai.

The seminar provided an open platform for discussions and insight exchanges on development of communication technologies in public security sectors. Guest Speaker Phil Kidner, CEO of TETRA & Critical Communications Association (TCCA), shared his view of the technological trends of communications for police across the world and Baohong He, associate director of Communications Standard Research Institute of China Academy of Telecommunication Research, brought his latest insights of Big Data and its value for PSS professionals

Besides case study sharing by representatives from Ethiopian and Turkish police, both of whom are Hytera DMR solution users, representatives from two Chinese local police bureau joined John Hu, GM of Hytera LTE product line and Shen Wang, GM of mission critical solution at the panel discussion, which was hosted by Pengfei Sun, chief scientist of PDT Association and GM of Hytera Harbin. The panelists shared the consensus that broadband is the future for law enforcement users, while PDT systems will be the major communication networks for Chinese police in years to come before LTE for public safety is final ready.

During the event Yelin Jiang, VP of Hytera, talked about the Total Convergence solution which Hytera showcased at the 8th China International Exhibition on Police Equipment (CIEPE) in China National Convention Center on May 17-20. The Total Convergence solution not only horizontally integrates different communication standards for narrowband private network, broadband private network, public network and internet, but also vertically unifies terminals, infrastructure and applications. It achieves complete convergence of products, business and management, and will bring completely new experience for public security users and enable them to deal with various complicated scenarios efficiently.

On the technical development side, G. S. Kok, SVP of Hytera, took the stage with a detailed presentation of how Hytera managed to develop and promote the open standard DMR Tier III portfolio in such a successful way, and what is to come in the age of narrow-to-broad band migration. Mr. Kok revealed the road map of multi-mode smart terminals to the audience.

Dr. Ke Lu, assistant to Hytera president and Mr. Wei Wei, former police officer and Hytera BD director of public safety, respectively brought the delegates into the global and Chinese perspective of PSS communication technologies, the status quo and future.
