The company said the Private LTE system will help Hanjin Newport streamline its business operations, as it allows the company to control their cargo in real-time without any interruptions from network disorders.

LG Uplus said Monday that the mobile carrier has successfully established a network system for container terminals in a move to expand its presence into the business-to-business (B2B) sector.

Under its partnership with Hanjin Newport, the mobile carrier will provide its long-term evolution (LTE) network for Hanjin's terminal operating system (TOS).

The "Private LTE" enterprise network system allows companies to build their own network infrastructure by connecting data traffic coming from Uplus base stations into their internal network system, Uplus reported. It also reported that this guarantees more security than using other public network systems such as Wi-Fi.

The company said the Private LTE system will help Hanjin Newport streamline its business operations, as it allows the company to control their cargo in real-time without any interruptions from network disorders. Some 120 transport vehicles of the company have equipped themselves with Uplus routers to use the LTE service, according to Uplus.
