PrioCom announced that LatinVillage, the largest Latin music festival in Europe, used Flash Smart Com (powered by PrioCom) for critical voice & data communication on 4G.

This year, LatinVillage took place for the fifteenth time in a row at the he Spaarnwoude recreation area. The festival location was transformed into a summer music paradise for more than 30,000 visitors. To ensure the safety of all festival visitors, traffic regulators and festival staff, a critical communication solution with priority on a 4G network was established.

With 11 stages, LatinVillage has a large area where staff needs to communicate with each other in a safe and efficient way. To provide all users across the site with fast and guaranteed (group) communication, LatinVillage partner PrioCom enabled Flash Private Mobile Networks.

For such a big event, the mobility issue is crucial. In a short period of time, many cars, coaches, shuttles and taxis have to reach the ground. All this without congestion and there should also be no nuisance in the living environment. To this end, a very detailed mobility plan was drawn up in which guaranteed critical (group) communication, real-time location determination and dynamic control from the central post was a tough requirement.

Based on the above question, Flash has asked its partner PrioCom to jointly execute this in a joint project.

Be able to work safely and reliably

The 180 traffic regulators, parking guards, cashiers and their executives were equipped with a robust smart Android device with PrioCom's Push-to-Talk (PTT) solution. The characteristic of this solution is that it uses the T-Mobile 4G network with exclusive data priority. This guarantees network availability, even if there are 30,000 users in a small area. In addition to the smart devices, a state-of-the-art dispatch system was also provided. This dispatch system provided all the necessary communications from the central post including dynamic group calls, one-on-one calls and priority calls. It also showed a map, that visualized the positions of all users in real time. These users could also be called directly from the map application.

Extra transmission masts

In order to provide guaranteed communication at peak moments, in collaboration with T-Mobile, additional transmission masts were installed. These transmitting towers (Cells on Weels) increased the capacity of the network and ensured coverage, which means that all users were connected at any place and any time.

Pay smoothly and securely

In the past, it was found that mobile PIN payments showed many failures due to an overloaded mobile network, which led to frustration among employees and visitors, long queues at the cash register and loss of income. To overcome this, all mobile ATMs were provided with the Priority SIM cards of PrioCom this year which regulated spotless payment traffic.

Local support

During the festival, PrioCom and Flash staff were present to provide operational support. This involved continouous support at both the location f the central command post and on the entire festival ground.
