Motorola Solutions (NYSE:MSI) announced a comprehensive set of industrial communications solutions at a recent series of Channel Partner Conferences in Australia, China and Vietnam.

The focus on advanced communications solutions comes at a crucial time when enterprise sectors are faced with new challenges, from growing pressure on costs and resources to greater customer expectations. Innovative technology solutions combining voice and data will enable organisations to work more effectively while reaching higher levels of safety and productivity.

Today, Motorola Solutions’ communications solutions are being deployed throughout the region in sectors including transportation, oil and gas, mining, forestry, hospitality and retail. The MOTOTRBO portfolio will be further customised to help these sectors achieve their business performance and growth objectives. Solutions will be tailored to suit companies of different sizes as well as the needs of technology users working in different roles.

“Motorola Solutions understands that addressing the needs of local customers is about much more than providing communications devices alone,” says Mike O’Connor, Vice President, Radio Channel Sales, Asia Pacific, Motorola Solutions.

“Our approach starts with understanding the specific needs of each customer and ends with providing tailored solutions to help businesses increase their safety and efficiency. This can include a range of services, from entreprise software applications, to after-sales support and collaborating with our large and experienced community of partners and end users,” Mr O’Connor said.

New and advanced features of Next Generation MOTOTRBO™ solutions presented at this year’s conferences include:

  • A small radio with an enhanced colour display for easy reading of messages and workflow functions. The Bluetooth-enabled XiR E8628i is especially suited to retail and hospitality sectors where sleek radios are easier for service staff to handle and carry; as well as for certain roles in heavy industries where slim radios provide greater convenience.
  • The integration of WAVE™ 5000 Work Group Communications software with Capacity Max (a MOTOTRBO digital trunking solution) to enable more efficient management of radio frequency channels while extending secure radio network access to users of smart phones and other devices.
  • A single frequency repeater to extend the range of two-way radios, especially for indoor coverage. Using a single frequency reduces operating costs for end users. This is especially beneficial in hospitality, retail, manufacturing and construction sectors, where there are often multiple sites to manage with low spectrum resources.

This year also marks the 10th anniversary of the MOTOTRBO portfolio. Motorola Solutions is the founding member of the digital mobile radio association (DMRA) and a market leader in the DMR standard.
