Qualified lawyer takes the helm of the Federal Agency for Public Safety Digital Radio, succeeding Jens Koch.

Germany's Federal Agency for Public Safety Digital Radio (BDBOS) has appointed Dr Christoph Hübner as its new President, effective 27 May 2026. The appointment was made by Federal Minister of the Interior Alexander Dobrindt, with Dr Hübner receiving his certificate of appointment and taking up office immediately.

Dr Hübner, a qualified lawyer, succeeds Jens Koch, who departed the agency on 31 March 2026. He joins the BDBOS from the Federal Ministry of the Interior, where he held a series of senior roles. These included Chief of Staff of the Minister's Office under former Federal Interior Minister Horst Seehofer and, most recently, Permanent Deputy to the Head of Division responsible for civil defence, disaster relief and firearms law.

Commenting on his appointment, Dr Hübner said he looked forward to leading the agency and would work in close cooperation with Germany's federal states to deliver secure, reliable and future-proof communication solutions for the personnel who safeguard public safety and order each day.
The BDBOS, which operates Germany's nationwide TETRA-based digital radio network for emergency services and public authorities, welcomed Dr Hübner to his new role.
