Global chemicals company selects eurofunk's integrated systems to set new benchmarks in industrial operations coordination

eurofunk, a provider of integrated control centre solutions, has been selected by Covestro Deutschland AG to modernise its control centre at the Brunsbüttel industrial park. The project sees eurofunk deploy a comprehensive suite of technologies — delivered, implemented and supported entirely from a single source.

At the heart of the upgrade are eurofunk's ELDIS Industry Core operations control system and IDDS UCiP voice communication system, together forming a powerful platform for emergency call handling, alerting, dispatching and real-time information transfer to emergency services. The control centre plays a critical role in coordinating the plant fire brigade and plant security, providing telephone support and performing monitoring and control functions across the site.

A key element of the modernisation is the implementation of a new Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) network designed for seamless multi-site operation. The DMR network delivers clear digital voice quality through advanced coding and noise suppression, optimises frequency utilisation, minimises interference and offers straightforward scalability as operational requirements evolve. Integration with the IDDS UCiP communication system is achieved via eurofunk's dedicated radio gateways (FuGa), ensuring unified connectivity across all locations.

Complementing the core systems is the resQnect MOBILE app, available for iOS and Android, which connects mobile emergency services personnel directly to the ELDIS IC operations control system via the cloud. The app provides alerting and operational data transmission, FMS-compliant status messaging, GPS position sharing, routing support during travel, operation-related chat functionality and the ability to exchange videos, images, texts and voice messages in real time — all delivered through push notifications.

The control centre desks have also been upgraded to the latest generation of eDESKc workstations, completing a future-proof infrastructure built to meet the increasing demands of industrial emergency and security coordination.

"We are proud that Covestro has placed its trust in eurofunk for this significant modernisation project," said a eurofunk spokesperson. "The combination of ELDIS IC, IDDS UCiP, our DMR expertise and the resQnect MOBILE app creates a truly integrated ecosystem that sets new standards in industrial control centre operations. We look forward to continuing our successful collaboration."

eurofunk guarantees 24/7 operational support across all implemented systems, ensuring maximum availability and reliability for Covestro's critical communications infrastructure at Brunsbüttel.
