Verizon Frontline Strengthens Nationwide Public Safety Communications Through 2025 Crisis Response Efforts
Throughout 2025, public safety agencies across the United States faced an unrelenting series of emergencies, ranging from hurricanes, floods, wildfires, and tornadoes to complex security and cyber-related incidents. During these high-pressure situations, Verizon Frontline played a central role in helping first responders maintain reliable, mission-critical communications when they were needed most.
At the core of these efforts was the Verizon Frontline Crisis Response Team, a specialized unit largely composed of former public safety professionals and military veterans. Operating at no cost to the agencies they support, the team focuses on rapidly deploying network solutions and technical expertise to help emergency personnel stay connected in challenging and often unpredictable environments.
Over the course of the year, the team supported nearly 700 public safety agencies across almost every U.S. state. In total, close to 1,500 requests for communications assistance were fulfilled, resulting in the deployment of approximately 9,000 Verizon Frontline solutions. These included repeaters, mobile hotspots, routers, smart devices, and a range of satellite-enabled assets such as Satellite Picocells on Trailers (SPOTs) and Rapid Response Connectivity Units (RRCUs).
Wildfire response operations represented a significant portion of the team’s 2025 activities. Nearly 1,700 Verizon Frontline devices and solutions were provided to wildland firefighters operating across 16 states. This support enabled reliable voice and data connectivity during fire mitigation and response efforts conducted in some of the most demanding conditions.
Beyond natural disasters, Verizon Frontline expanded its mission to address other critical public safety challenges. The Crisis Response Team provided essential connectivity to public sector organizations affected by ransomware attacks, helping restore operational communications during recovery efforts. In parallel, the team contributed to long-term preparedness by participating in more than 80 disaster-response training exercises across 22 states, supporting readiness at the federal, state, and local levels.
Collectively, these efforts underscore Verizon Frontline’s role in reinforcing public safety communications and operational resilience throughout 2025.
