Ted Stoves, SR engineer with Chevron writes that Chevron have transitioned its first business unit from VHF analogue communications to a IP 2-way radio system. The Ghent Lubrication Plant in Belgium became the first to adopt the TASSTA push-to-talk-over broadband (PTToB) solution. The solutions was implemented with the assistence of G6 Global, a UK based company that is highly experienced in supporting military, commercial and public sector projects in almost every corner of the globe to include Iraq, Afghanistan, Sierra Leone, Rwanda, Libya, Albania, Azerbaijan, Kosovo, USA, Netherlands, Germany, France, and the UK.

This transition marks the start of a transition from older technologies (P25, TETRA, DMR, VHF) with costly maintenance contracts, expensive and cumbersome hardware, and huge carbon footprints to cheaper, better quality voice and data radio solutions for mission critical use cases in the Oil & Gas Industry.
