The new generation of WiFi enabeled videobadges will be able to stream live back to their control centre to view incidents in real time.

Today Edesix launches its first generation of WiFi enabled VideoBadge - the VB-300 series.

The WiFi feature enables the VB-300 camera to stream video and audio to VideoManager or an RTSP gateway service, while simultaneously storing evidential quality footage on the camera for later download and review.

The WiFi functionality will allow customers such as train stations, supermarkets and large man-guarding operations, where they have their own WiFi network, to stream live back to their control centre to view incidents in real time. This brings body worn cameras into the CCTV space allowing organisations to have a fully integrated view of their staff, whether it be through static cameras or mobile cameras.

The range is available in standard battery or extended battery option. The extended battery allows for up to 14 hours of continuous recording, a requirement that has been driven by customer demand. In a number of sectors like civil enforcement officers and transportation, employee shifts can be up to 12 hours long.
