European Emergency Number Association (EENA) Advisory Board Elects Him as Chair of EENA NG112 Committee.
Wolfgang Kampichler, who already holds the position of chair of the EENA NG112 Committee, has been entrusted to fulfil this role for another year. With its capacity for innovation and technical expertise, Frequentis continues seeking to actively participate in the development of standards and regulatory measures. Frequentis has acquired National Emergency Number Association (NENA) and EENA experience, and is now focusing on the implementation and deployment of the NG112 standard in Europe.
Frequentis is an international supplier of communication and information systems for control centres with safety-critical tasks. Solutions are in operation in over 115 countries, with customers including police, fire and rescue and emergency medical services, as well as organisations and public authorities in civil and military air traffic management, public transport, and maritime markets.
The NG112 Committee focuses on technical topics ranging from discussion of standards and deployment of IP-based emergency services to information sharing for challenging issues. It comprises more than 250 members and invited experts.
Frequentis places great emphasis on developing its expertise in setting standards in safety-critical markets, and the re-election of Wolfgang Kampichler to the position of chair is further evidence of Frequentis’ know-how and expertise in this area.
Wolfgang Kampichler says, “Many thanks to the EENA Advisory Board members for expressing their confidence in my work. It’s an honour and a pleasure for me to continue supporting the NG112 Committee and bring in my expertise for further development”. His plans for the future are to introduce and promote the NG112 standards throughout Europe, which implies a need for new documents describing transition scenarios and national implementation plans, as well as conference contributions focusing on NG112.
Wolfgang Kampichler, Principal at Frequentis AG, has acquired international expertise when chairing the planning committee for the NENA Industry Collaboration Event #5 (ICE 5) and co-chairing NENA ICE 6 and brings in his profound knowledge in order to support standardisation and interoperability testing of NG112 services in Europe. He contributes to standardisation working groups in public safety and air traffic management and is a recognised expert on NG9-1-1/NG112 and speaker at public and customer events addressing topics related to VoIP and emergency services with internet technology.
