telent GmbH will act as general contractor for the joint projects, while RADIODATA will supply the DMR system components under the trademark DIPRA (Digital Professional Radio).

euromicron's subsidiary telent GmbH, Backnang, and RADIODATA GmbH, Berlin announced a strategic partnership. In future, they will offer customized all-round solutions for Digital Mobile Radio (DMR), comprising consulting, planning and design, supply of the system components, installation, commissioning, maintenance and operations support for customer groups such as utilities and public transportation companies.

"telent and RADIODATA have been collaborating successfully since 2008," states Dr. Stefan Kindt, Managing Director of telent GmbH. "As strategic partners, we can offer our customers complete packages that are tailored even better to their individual needs."

All-round solutions for digital mobile radio

telent GmbH will act as general contractor for the joint projects, while RADIODATA will supply the DMR system components. telent will be responsible for developing the network concepts and for planning, installation, commissioning and all project management tasks. The services also comprise submitting all applications to and obtaining approval from the German Federal Network Agency. As a specialist for transmission technology, telent also networks the locations and performs the infrastructure work required for that.

RADIODATA develops and produces DMR systems under the trademark DIPRA (Digital Professional Radio). DIPRA systems consist of three main components:
Base stations in single-site and  simulcast  technology, end-user devices such as  terminals and mobile devices in vehicles, and the switch for central management, administration and integration of users in the telecommunications and IT systems. DIPRA systems are currently available in the 2m and 4m range and optionally support full-duplex mode. telent and RADIODATA also offer their customers services, training and first, second and third level support.

"The expertise and experience of RADIODATA and telent complement each other excellently when it comes to creating DMR networks. There is very great interest in such solutions at present, above all among power utilities, since they need future-proof radio networks based on existing analog infrastructures," says RADIODATA's Managing Director Hans-Joachim Langermann.

Migration to DMR

DMR is a standard for professional mobile radio adopted by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) and replaces the traditional analog professional mobile radio. Customers benefit from double the communications capacity, a better voice quality, simple connection to IP networks and efficient use of frequencies. DMR enables simple migration of an existing analog radio system. Use of the existing locations and often the frequencies and transmission paths ensures high cost-effectiveness and investment security.
