Airwave achieves new green credentials with CAESER assessment

Airwave has scored 88% in the latest government annual CAESER (Corporate Assessment of Environmental, Social & Economic Responsibility) sustainability assessment, which further establishes Airwave as one of the leading sustainable suppliers to government.

“The Home Office, HMRC and the Department of Health place significant importance on the commitment and contribution their suppliers make towards the Greening Government Commitments and other policy targets. We complete the annual assessment, which covers a number of topics, as part of our own sustainability agenda and this year realised a 15% improvement on the previous year,” says John Lewis, Airwave COO.

Always keen to improve our green credentials, the higher scoring can largely be attributed to new initiatives introduced to achieve this.

“We have placed a greater emphasis on our community volunteering policy, which our staff fully embraced with activities taking place across the country with local volunteer organisations. Together with improved reporting of our recycling and carbon emissions programmes, these have been instrumental in our improved score,” adds John.

"Airwave is without a doubt an industry leader in social, environmental and economic corporate responsibility. As one of the early adopters of CAESER, Airwave has shown continual commitment and dedication to improvement by implementing the actionable recommendations provided by our system and benchmarking themselves against government standards,” says John F. McClelland C.B.E. NQC Ltd Chairman.

CAESER supports organisations in their goal of sustainable procurement and their assessment methodology is recognised by the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply and is used by a number of central Government departments in their procurement of goods and services.
