Sepura strengthens commitment to North American market, appointing Nielson Communications Inc as its first TETRA distributor in the United State.

Sepura is pleased to announce the appointment of Nielson Communications Inc. (NCI) as its first TETRA distributor in the United States, in an agreement which builds upon Sepura's growing success in the Americas.  Working together, the two companies will drive the adoption of Sepura and TETRA in the North American market.

The companies have developed a growing partnership through collaboration on a twelve-month TETRA trial, inaugurated in January 2011, at Nielson's home base in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The trial, the first of its kind in the US, comprised three IP connected base stations relaying voice and data communications through Sepura hand-portable radios, and allowed prospective users to experience and evaluate TETRA technology in action. It also presented Sepura and Neilson Communications with the opportunity to develop a close understanding of the momentum they could jointly provide to the development of TETRA in the USA.

"Sepura has recently achieved a number of significant successes in the Americas, spanning from Mexico and Argentina to Brazil and Uruguay", says Kevin Graham, Director of Developing Markets at Sepura.  "Combining our TETRA expertise with the established technical excellence and market knowledge of Nielson Communications, we will now be able to serve the Greater Mid Western region and beyond.  America is one of the emerging regions for TETRA, and this agreement serves as an ideal springboard for our future development in this exciting market."

Sepura is committed to developing the market for reliable, robust and secure communications in the US, where TETRA is set to have a significant impact on the professional mobile radio industry.  Users from a wide range of markets, including the transport, utilities and commercial sectors, can benefit from TETRA's voice and data capabilities which offer significant improvements over traditional analogue communication systems.

Sepura works with channel partners worldwide to ensure that customers benefit from both market insights and system integration capabilities, as well as Sepura's global leadership and expertise in digital radio products.

"Local, regional, and national users will benefit from the new partnership we've formed with Sepura," says Rick Nielson, President of Nielson Communications. "The trial has been generating a high level of interest and we're now in active dialogue with a number of potential users requiring totally reliable communications links in very challenging environments.  Sepura's track record gives us the confidence to announce that we have the optimum solution for their critical communications needs."

The new agreement coincides with the launch of the North America TETRA Forum (NATF) which now represents North American interests in the evolution of the TETRA standard. Sepura has been a member of the International TETRA and Critical Communications Association since its founding and along with Nielson Communications are inaugural members of the local NATF further demonstrating our commitment to this important growth market.
