Airwave, the leading provider of critical voice and data communications to public service organisations in Great Britain, recently won the prestigious Shrievalty Cup, which took place at the Rolls of Monmouth Golf Club in Gwent, South Wales.

Airwave, who also sponsored the event, entered a full team made up of Pat McKenzie, Keith Turner, Frank Hall and Steve Ellis.

Hosted by Lady Diana Hayman-Joyce, High Sheriff of Gwent in nomination 2011/12, the event was in support of the Gwent High Sheriffs’ Community Fund, which contributes to some of the initiatives set up to assist youngsters to make the most of their potential.

“Your support will enable the Gwent High Sheriffs’ Community Fund to continue to support a number of highly successful projects in Gwent, such as the Midnight Sports project on the Duffryn Estate in Newport, the Attik Youth Drop in Centre in Monmouth, and the Woodland Field Group in Penygarn, Pontypool,” said Lady Hayman-Joyce.

She added that each of the initiatives supported have a proven track record in reducing crime and anti-social behaviour and equally importantly, “provide structure and direction to the youngsters who attend these projects”.

According to David Sangster, UK services director at Airwave: “We support a number of initiatives which are designed to give something back to the wider community and those of the Gwent High Sheriff’s Community Fund are highly commendable.”
