PageOne Communications, the UK’s leading provider of mobile messaging solutions to the public and enterprise sectors, last wek announced it is sponsoring a series of live demonstrations taking place at this year’s BAPCO Conference and Exhibition, 13-14 April at the Business Design Centre, London. Performed three times daily by the Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) and Hampshire Fire Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) specialists, these demonstrations will show the importance of a collaborative approach to communications technology when responding to an emergency.

PageOne’s recent survey of 500 fire professionals revealed that over three quarters have seen an increase in the need to co-ordinate communications between the emergency services, citing technology as the key enabler. Visitors to the exhibition will be able to see this first-hand as the HART and Hamphire USAR teams work together to lower a stretchered casualty from the roof of the exhibition hall to a prepared casualty handling area below.

PageOne’s 2-way Responder devices will also be used in the live demo, highlighting the importance of adopting a robust and resilient mechanism for communicating in critical situations. Already used across emergency services and health trusts it is ideal for field-based staff and critical applications where guaranteed messaging is essential. PageOne’s Responder provides a wealth of features including delivery confirmation reply, SOS capability and location features.

“In an emergency situation, effective collaboration and communication between the emergency services and outside organisations is critical to the success of the response,” said Clair Cawley, Director of Marketing at PageOne Communications. “PageOne has a vast amount of experience providing emergency communications solutions and BAPCO Live presents us with a great platform to showcase our 2-way Responder which can greatly assist public safety communications officers in their day-to-day roles.”
