By establishing a direct digital connection, CSA Monitoring is reducing response times and improving the accuracy of the information delivered to ECCs.

CSA Monitoring has introduced a new technology solution that enables alarm dispatching providers to transmit emergency alerts directly to Emergency Communication Centers (ECCs). This development marks a significant shift away from the long-standing practice of relaying burglary and fire alarms via phone calls, a process that required operators to verbally communicate critical incident details to 911 dispatchers.

By establishing a direct digital connection, CSA Monitoring is reducing response times and improving the accuracy of the information delivered to ECCs. The advancement represents a meaningful enhancement to public safety, particularly in fire-related incidents where timely intervention is essential.

As one of the state’s largest wholesale alarm monitoring centers, CSA Monitoring supports numerous small alarm dealers across Michigan. These dealers implement fire, burglary, and life-safety systems, including personal emergency response systems (PERS) that safeguard older adults who may require immediate assistance.

Marc Cuddie, owner of CSA Monitoring, stated,

“This technology is incredible for delivering accurate information to the correct PSAP in a very short time frame, cutting more than two minutes off the emergency process in some cases. In a fire, this is huge. Fire experts agree that a fire can double in size every minute it burns, so saving even a few minutes has a major impact on protecting life and property.”

The system is powered by Dice Corporation, a Michigan-based technology provider known for its role in advancing alarm automation and public safety communications. The company’s new PSAP Connect service enables the interface that supports this direct-to-ECC capability.

Clifford Dice, CEO of Dice Corporation, commented,

“We chose Michigan as one of the first states to go live because it is our home state, and CSA is a very forward-thinking company as well as one of the technology leaders in the wholesale monitoring industry. In this case, our interface covers more than 86% of the state’s population and connects a significant percentage of ECCs. We also have other alarm companies that we plan to bring live in additional states as we roll out a nationwide platform for the industry’s top alarm providers.”

The cooperation between CSA Monitoring and Dice Corporation signals a notable step forward in the modernization of alarm communications, reinforcing the broader public safety ecosystem with faster, more reliable emergency dispatching.
