Sepura Partners with Charity to Create Courtyard Garden
Sepura has partnered with local charity and social enterprise, The Phoenix Trust to transform a quiet courtyard at its Cambridge headquarters into a welcoming community garden for staff and visitors.
Initiated by Sepura’s social committee and led by Events Executive, Alice Gibeau, the idea for a staff gardening club emerged to promote wellbeing and encourage time spent outdoors in a calming, natural setting.
To bring the vision to life, Sepura collaborated with The Phoenix Trust, a Milton-based charity supporting adults with learning disabilities and other complex needs through training in practical skills such as joinery, landscaping and manufacturing.
Using reclaimed wood, including surplus pallets donated by Sepura, the Trust’s trainees handcrafted a range of bespoke wooden planters. The work not only helped shape the new garden space but also provided valuable real-world experience for the charity’s participants.
This project has provided our co-workers with an excellent opportunity to apply their skills in a real-world setting. It’s rewarding to see local companies investing in social impact and supporting our work. The alliance with Sepura has been incredibly encouraging for everyone involved.

Following the success of the project, Sepura plans to continue its partnership with The Phoenix Trust, supporting the charity’s impactful work through ongoing collaboration and regular donations of broken or surplus pallets. This joint effort supports the Trust’s focus on using recycled materials and reflects Sepura’s wider Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) objectives.
The initiative shows how practical needs can be met in a way that reflects our long-term values and purpose. Sepura will continue to seek out cooperative ventures that generate both operational and social value.

The courtyard garden is now in full use, with staff enjoying outdoor breaks, informal gatherings, and the chance to contribute to ongoing planting efforts.
