In co-operation with police force users BiTEA has designed a multi role, rugged transportable TETRA transceiver unit designated the B9000 MK3.

BiTEA, a leading designer, developer and manufacturer of TETRA radio support products and services recently released the B9000 MK3 Tetra Gateway.

The newly designed unit is based around a TETRA gateway transceiver and is powered by 2 internal 12V 10 Ah maintenance free VRLA batteries. It can also be powered and charged from an external DC source.

As an extended range covert operations gateway/repeater the rugged B9000 MK3 can be dug in with only the antenna brought out for mounting in a suitable location. The B9000 MK3 can then provide extended coverage as a gateway or repeater for covert teams.

The B9000 MK3 is also designed to be rapidly deployed in vehicles, typically being stowed on the floor or in the vehicle trunk/boot. Power for the unit in this role can be either from the internal batteries or the vehicle 12V DC supply which will also charge the internal batteries.

In addition as a temporary solution, the B9000 MK3 can be deployed as a table top transceiver in temporary locations such as field command posts. In this role the unit can also be powered by an optional external 100-240V AC 6A power supply which also charges the batteries.
