Radlink Communications Delivers Coastal Safety Network Upgrade for Surf Life Saving Queensland

Radlink Communications has partnered with Surf Life Saving Queensland (SLSQ) to design, engineer, install and commission a series of new emergency response beacons, known as "smart poles," at key coastal blackspot locations across the state. The initiative forms part of SLSQ's broader Coastal Safety Network, aimed at strengthening public safety infrastructure along Queensland's beaches.

Working with SLSQ from concept through to completion, Radlink Communications developed a solution tailored specifically to the organization's operational requirements. The resulting solar-powered units integrate direct emergency communications, live video monitoring and public safety messaging capabilities into a single platform, providing enhanced situational awareness for lifesaving personnel and faster response times in critical situations.

The smart pole beacons have been deployed at locations identified as coastal blackspots, areas where communication coverage or emergency response infrastructure had previously been limited, with the goal of closing critical safety gaps statewide.

Radlink Communications noted that the project reflects the value of close collaboration between technology partners and public safety organizations working toward a shared objective of improving safety outcomes for beachgoers across Queensland.
