PMRExpo 2026 Heads Towards Record Edition as Anniversary Year Approaches

Curated by: Gert Jan Wolf - Editor-in Chief for The Critical Communications Review

More than 200 exhibitors confirmed five months ahead of the 25th edition, with growth of around ten percent expected.

PMRExpo, the leading European trade fair for Secure Communications, is on course for a record-breaking 25th edition. More than 200 exhibitors have already confirmed their participation for the 2026 event, representing over 96 percent of the exhibition space booked at PMRExpo 2025. Koelnmesse and the Bundesverband Professioneller Mobilfunk (PMeV), conceptual sponsor of the event, anticipate growth of around ten percent compared to the previous edition.

Alexander Wolff, Director of PMRExpo, described the booking status as unprecedented at this stage of preparation, pointing to strong industry demand for a professional platform dedicated to secure, mission and business-critical communications. PMeV Chairman Bernhard Klinger added that the current geopolitical climate, growing resilience requirements, and the ongoing digital transformation of the economy are driving sustained demand for highly available and secure communications solutions.

Confirmed exhibitors include established international and national market leaders such as 450connect, Airbus Secure Land Communications, Frequentis, Hexagon, HMF Smart Solutions, Motorola Solutions, Sepura and Tait Communications. First-time main exhibitors ENTEL, Haven Technologies, High Sec Labs and Teltronic further underline the event's growing international profile.

The 2026 programme will continue to address the evolving needs of networked, resilient communications for authorities and organisations with security tasks (BOS), critical infrastructures (KRITIS), and industry sectors more broadly. Alongside core professional mobile radio themes, the event will place increasing emphasis on 5G, artificial intelligence, satellite communications, cyber-resilience and civil-military cooperation.

The parallel PMRExpo Summit conference programme will explore these themes under the heading "Networked resiliently. Challenges and solutions in the critical communications of the next generation," complemented by dedicated formats including the 5G-Hub for Private Networks, a 5G theme day, the Start-up Area, and the Hackathon@PMRExpo held in cooperation with COREVAS GmbH & Co.KG.

Marking its 25th anniversary, PMRExpo has played a defining role in the development of secure, mission and business-critical communications in Europe, evolving from a showcase for classic radio solutions into a platform spanning private 5G networks and digital communications technologies.
PMRExpo 2026 takes place from 24 to 26 November 2026 in Cologne.
