ACMOSS Extends Future Radio Network Engagement to French Navy and Senior Fire Officers

Back-to-back visits by the Marine nationale General Staff and ENSOSP trainee group commanders underline growing defence and civil security interest in France’s mission-critical broadband network.

ACMOSS, the French agency responsible for operating the Réseau Radio du Futur (RRF), the country’s mission-critical broadband network for security, emergency and health services, hosted two high-level delegations in October 2026. The visits reinforce the network’s adoption across both the defence and civil protection communities.

On 13 October 2026, a delegation from the General Staff of the French Navy (Marine nationale) visited ACMOSS for a presentation of the full range of RRF equipment. This included terminals, accessories and the functions of the dispatcher console designed for command rooms. As part of a progressive adoption and capability build-up, the Navy intends to launch a trial at a naval base before extending RRF deployment to all of its sites.

The Navy follows the French Air and Space Force and the French Army onto a deployment path. This path covers both its own operational needs and its interministerial role in joint missions, for example alongside French Customs or the departmental fire and rescue services (SDIS). Through its forces, directorates and services, the Ministry of the Armed Forces as a whole is now rolling out the RRF across metropolitan France.

On 22 October, ACMOSS welcomed two groups of senior fire officers undertaking group commander training at the French National Fire Officers Academy (ENSOSP). The visit forms part of the officers’ Paris training programme, following similar sessions in 2025 and April 2026, and alternates with a visit to the Civil Security Digital Agency (ANSC). Participants received a presentation of the RRF and toured the ACMOSS showroom to learn about the network, how it operates and how fire and rescue services use it.

The session set out the operational status of the RRF and explained how services can join the programme. It also prepared future group commanders and incident commanders for the network’s deployment within their services, as part of ACMOSS’s wider outreach to civil security stakeholders.
