ACMOSS Positions France’s Réseau Radio du Futur within the Future EU Critical Communications System
French agency engages with the European Commission and public safety operators in Brussels.
The French Agency for Operational Mobile Communications for Security and Emergency Services (ACMOSS) attended the Global Public Safety Operators Conference (GPSOC) and the CERIS conference in Brussels on 20 and 21 October 2026, engaging with the European Commission, public safety operators and industry on the development of the European Union Critical Communication System (EUCCS).
The meetings followed the legislative proposals published by the European Commission on 30 September 2026. EUCCS is intended to provide European security and emergency services with secure, interoperable communications, including during cross-border operations and crises.

ACMOSS presented France’s Réseau Radio du Futur (RRF), whose multi-operator broadband architecture is designed to enhance coverage and resilience, as a practical reference for future public safety networks across Europe.
In discussions with DG HOME, the agency addressed the EUCCS legislative framework, governance and funding for the 2028–2034 period. ACMOSS stressed the need to account for existing national architectures, recognise investments already made by Member States and support their interconnection.
The agency also advanced cooperation with operators in Italy, Finland, Belgium, Spain and the United Kingdom on network interconnection, cross-border trials, infrastructure resilience and interoperable services, building on its involvement in the EUCCS Preparation projects and ETSI standardisation work.
