Motorola object radios with Savox and Peltor accessories to support professional emergency communication for fire services in Gelderland and Overijssel

Firecom has won a tender for the supply of more than 3,000 Motorola narrowband DMR radios, fitted with accessories from Savox and Peltor, to five Veiligheidsregio's (Safety Regions) in the Dutch provinces of Gelderland and Overijssel. The award, made under the joint "Oost 5" procurement framework, will see Firecom support the regions with reliable portable radio communication for use during operational deployments.

The five Safety Regions involved are Veiligheidsregio Noord- en Oost-Gelderland, Veiligheids- en Gezondheidsregio Gelderland-Midden, Veiligheidsregio Gelderland-Zuid, Veiligheidsregio IJsselland and Veiligheidsregio Twente. By procuring jointly under Oost 5, the five regions aim to support the further professionalisation and standardisation of on-site radio communication across their organisations.

Within Safety Regions, fast, clear and reliable communication is of critical importance. Object radios support operational personnel in communicating with one another and contribute to effective information exchange during a wide range of operational situations. Users must be able to rely on communication equipment that continues to perform under demanding conditions, with reliability, ease of use, robustness and clear audio quality cited as key requirements underpinning the tender.

Under the contract, Firecom will be responsible for the delivery of the object radios and the associated services agreed within the scope of the tender.

Firecom has extensive experience supplying critical communication and alerting solutions to Safety Regions and other emergency response organisations across the Netherlands, ranging from professional portable radios and object communication systems to pagers and complete alerting solutions. The Oost 5 award follows a series of tenders Firecom has won for Dutch Safety Regions in recent years, further strengthening the company's position in the market for professional communication and alerting solutions for emergency services.

Firecom said it was proud of the trust placed in the company by the five Safety Regions, and said it looks forward to a successful collaboration and to the delivery of more than 3,000 object radios under the new contract.
