Rugged Device Manufacturer Deepens Regional Ties as Part of Its Ongoing Commitment to Communications and Security Industries

RugGear, a leading manufacturer of rugged mobile devices for mission-critical and business-critical communications, has announced that it has joined the network of the Asociación Latinoamericana de Seguridad (ALAS), the principal association representing the security industry across Latin America and the Caribbean. The announcement was shared on social medai by Daniel Jacome, Regional Director at RugGear, who described the move as part of the company's continuing effort to support sectors where communication and security are essential.

Founded in 1997 and headquartered in Miami, Florida, ALAS has built nearly three decades of experience connecting companies and professionals within the Latin American and Caribbean security industry, fostering partnerships, business development, and professional education across the region. Its membership base spans leading manufacturers, integrators, and service providers active in electronic security and related fields.

Through its participation in the ALAS network, RugGear said it intends to contribute technology developed specifically for demanding operational environments, collaborate with established players across the region, and support continued efforts to raise standards within the mission-critical communications sector.

"This milestone represents more than a partnership. It reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting industries where communication and security are critical," said Daniel Jacome, Regional Director at RugGear. "Because building a safer, more connected future requires strong collaboration, and at RugGear, we are ready to be part of that journey."

RugGear, founded in 2006, designs and manufactures rugged smartphones, tablets and mobile devices built for use in demanding industrial and public safety environments, with particular strength in Push-to-Talk (PTT) and Mission-Critical Push-to-Talk (MCPTT) applications. The company's devices are engineered to meet stringent industrial standards, including IP67/68 ingress protection and MIL-STD durability requirements, and are used across sectors including public safety, industrial operations, and hazardous-area environments. RugGear operates internationally across Europe, the United States, the Middle East, Australia and Asia.
