Paraná state joins national TETRA network deployed by Teltronic in Brazil

Paraná State PRF values the higher security level provided by the new system, since the fact of using encrypted technology complicates the interception of the messages among the agents.

Teltronic, a subsidiary of Hytera Communications Corporation Limited, keep on working on the improvement of the Brazilian security forces’ communications systems, and the projects that the company develops in the South American country continue growing to reach and serve each time a larger area.

In this way, Federal Highway Police (Polícia Rodoviária Federal, PRF) at Paraná State has joined the TETRA Radio Digital communication system that Teltronic is deploying with national range. The network comprises of 600 base stations and offers coverage to twelve different states and Federal District.

This progress was officially announced in the opening of the new PRF Unit at the city of Cascavel, in western Paraná. Brazil’s Public Security Minister, Raul Jungmann, took part in the act, pointing out that the arrival of digital radio to police communications means “a significative advance in integration, technology and operational capabilities”

The minister himself was involved in the first communication through the new system, by means of a radio call to the Public Security National Secretary, Carlos Alberto dos Santos

Additionally, the State of Acre, in the border with Peru and Bolivia, has also a new digital radio system that enhances its output and the communication quality, granting access to the Integrated Centre for Public Security Operations (Centro Integrado de Operaciones de Seguridad Pública CIOSP) and being connected with other regions of the country.

Acre Public Safety delivered the digital radios to both police and military police at the area, as well as to the fire department, in an event gathering the main state authorities, including the secretary of Public Security, Emilio Farias.
