The largest commercial Tetra network in the Netherlands, Belgium and England has undergone a total upgrade. Aside from having an even better coverage, the Entropia network now also has a strong network security and flexible network capability.

In short: faster and reliable mission-critical communications throughout the Netherlands.

The upgrade is planned for tonight 25 August and will be completed on the 26th. Tetra is an existing and proven technology which is deployed worldwide by users of the public order and security facilities. The major advantage of the technology is that a connection can be established almost immediately. In addition there is the option of having group conversations. Tetra is a worldwide standard and is known for its high degree of operational security and the stable encryption. Eminent "This network makes professional mobile communications with the most state-of-the-art means possible. This new network guarantees the future of professional mobile communications in the forthcoming decade", says Philip Vercruysse, CEO at Entropia Digital.

He says that this Tetra network is of eminent importance for the Dutch economy. Vercruysse: "Many parties are dependent on good communication tools. Our economic infrastructure is dependent on sound communications. For the unloading of a ship in the port of Rotterdam, if a nurse immediately must share information with a physician, when Rijkswaterstaat needs to communicate the occurrence of an obstruction: speed and surety of communications is crucial everywhere."

Altogether, 200 Tetra masts are rapidly being constructed in the Netherlands which consist of duel core switches with fully redundant core switches. It is a Dimetra 8.1 Tetra network, provided with high encryption. Moreover, the network has been equipped with dual high redundant IP Tetra switches which are separated from each other geographically. In terms of software, a greater capability has been provided as well as an automated system for software upgrade and maintenance activities.
