450connect Expands Whitelist for LTE450 Routers and Smart Grid Devices

The growing number of certified Smart Grid devices underscores both the high market acceptance and the advancing maturity of the LTE450 infrastructure.

450connect has once again expanded its whitelist of Smart Grid devices approved for use in the 450 MHz radio network. In addition to previously listed models – including Garderos U-series routers and other variants from the manufacturer, the Insys MRX LTE450 1.0, and the Welotec TK804L1-450 – the Advantech ICR-2437-DE, AddSecure DSR-211-450-DE, and MC Technologies MC-MNR are now officially certified.

To meet customer requirements, 450connect has significantly intensified its whitelisting process in recent months. The certification process for router manufacturers has been substantially expanded, enabling network operators and energy suppliers to access an even broader range of devices and increasingly deploy the hardware they prefer or that is already established in their system landscapes.

The growing number of certified Smart Grid devices underscores both the high market acceptance and the advancing maturity of the LTE450 infrastructure. An increasing number of manufacturers are specifically adapting their hardware to meet the requirements of the dedicated critical infrastructure (KRITIS) network, thereby supporting the nationwide Smart Grid rollout.

The resilient digitalization of local network substations via the 450 MHz network has now reached industrial scale and efficient mass deployment: more than 10,000 transformer stations are already connected to the blackout-resistant 450connect network. Additional Smart Grid applications, such as emergency notification systems for substations, decentralized generation facilities, and gas and water network installations, are also already integrated into the network.

Simultaneously, the expansion of the 450 MHz network continues to progress. With rapid growth in nationwide network coverage from 30 percent in Q1/2025 to over 90 percent in Q4/2025, LTE450 already provides a robust foundation for highly available and secure communication – in urban areas as well as rural regions. The technology combines long lifecycles, uninterruptible connectivity, and high resilience – including for blackout-resistant applications.

For network operators and energy suppliers preparing their Smart Grid infrastructure for 450 MHz, 450connect also offers practical guidance on suitable device technology, antenna solutions, and measurement procedures. The ongoing expansion of the whitelist ensures that a broad range of compatible devices from various manufacturers is available to them.
