Václav Havel Airport Prague Enhances Mission-Critical Communications with TASSTA
The platform delivers advanced features such as push-to-video, photo and document sharing, indoor location tracking, man-down alerts, and end-to-end encryption, while ensuring seamless interoperability with TETRA.
Václav Havel Airport Prague, the Czech Republic’s largest international airport, has enhanced its mission-critical communications by deploying TASSTA, a broadband communication platform integrated with its existing TETRA radio system. The upgrade ensures faster, safer, and more efficient coordination across airport operations.
The airport, which manages millions of passengers and vital cargo annually, has long relied on TETRA for secure and reliable voice communication. However, the system’s narrowband design limited multimedia data exchange—an increasing requirement in modern airport management.
In partnership with DCom, spol. s r.o., Prague Airport conducted a year-long trial of TASSTA in 2024, leveraging 4G and 5G networks. The platform delivers advanced features such as push-to-video, photo and document sharing, indoor location tracking, man-down alerts, and end-to-end encryption, while ensuring seamless interoperability with TETRA.
Fully deployed in 2025, TASSTA is now gradually being rolled out across all airport units, supporting security patrols, maintenance teams, and logistics staff with real-time information exchange. The deployment positions Václav Havel Airport Prague at the forefront of future-ready aviation communications.
