Meeting was focused on exploring how teams from both departments can quickly find good and effective cooperation.
Dr. Karsten Wildberger is the first Federal Minister for Digital Affairs and State Modernization in Germany since May 6, 2025. On the 16th May, he visited Federal Agency for Public Safety Digital Radio (BDBOS) for an initial introduction.
The newly created Federal Ministry for Digital Affairs and State Modernization (BMDS) brings together important digital expertise and resources and will centrally manage the federal government's IT. The BMDS will also be responsible for content-related technical supervision for the Federal Networks and the Public Administration Information Network (IVÖV) in the future.
In a conversation with BDBOS President Jens Koch, the Vice President, the Director as Commissioner for Federal Networks, and the department heads, the Minister made it clear:
"The new Digital Ministry is not an end in itself, but rather an opportunity to advance the transformation to a modern, efficient, and digitally capable state."
BDBOS President Jens Koch emphasized that "BDBOS, in its responsibility for federal networks and the future IVÖV, is making a significant contribution to the success of digitalization and state modernization in Germany."
In addition to getting to know each other, the meeting was about exploring how the teams from both departments can quickly find good and effective cooperation.
