Zebra ET65 Rugged Tablet Achieves Airbus Agnet Certification

Certification confirms the rugged Android tablet for secure broadband data and mission-critical push-to-talk on hybrid TETRA networks.

Zebra Technologies has announced that its ET65 rugged Android tablet has achieved official certification for Agnet, the mission-critical broadband communications solution from Airbus Public Safety and Security. The certification means the device can be used on Airbus's hybrid TETRA architecture by frontline teams in public safety, utilities and transport. It supports secure broadband data and mission-critical push-to-talk (PTT) communications on a single rugged platform.

The certification follows strong customer demand across mission-critical programmes. Operators increasingly want rugged data devices that work alongside their existing TETRA infrastructure rather than as a separate layer. Agnet lets users on broadband networks talk to each other and to TETRA radio users. That gives organisations a way to add broadband capability while keeping the resilience and group communication features of their established narrowband networks.

For Zebra, certification confirms that the ET65 is suited to operational environments where losing communications has direct consequences for safety and service continuity. "When frontline teams in public safety, utilities and transport operate in demanding environments, communication failure is not an option," the company stated in announcing the certification.

According to Zebra, the ET65 provides secure, uninterrupted broadband data and mission-critical PTT communications within certified TETRA hybrid architectures. The tablet is built for field use and brings enterprise-grade Android computing to users who need access to applications, situational awareness data and voice communications from one device.
