Lynk and Omnispace Launch Elveo Mobile to Deliver Resilient Next-Generation Connectivity

Elveo Will Deliver Resilient Next-Generation Connectivity, Spectrum Flexibility, and Compute Power Directly to Mobile Devices on Earth

Lynk Global and Omnispace confirmed the completion of their merger on 14 August 2026, forming Elveo Mobile, a new direct-to-device (D2D) satellite operator headquartered in the Washington, D.C. metro area. The newly combined company will deliver satellite connectivity across multiple frequency bands directly to the estimated eight billion mobile phones and devices already in use worldwide, without requiring specialised hardware. For the critical communications sector, the significance of the announcement lies less in the scale of the transaction than in what the resulting network architecture, referred to simply as Elveo, may offer public safety and emergency response organisations: a more resilient layer of connectivity able to extend beyond the reach, and beyond the failure points, of terrestrial infrastructure.

Elveo unites two established players in D2D communications, together bringing 20 years of combined heritage, globally coordinated high-priority spectrum rights spanning multiple bands, and patented multi-band satellite technology. For public safety users, operating across several bands rather than a single one reduces dependence on any one frequency or licence, helping sustain connectivity where a single-band system might otherwise be disrupted by interference, congestion or regulatory constraints — a consideration that becomes critical precisely when communications capacity is needed most, during major incidents and disaster response.

The Elveo payload is also designed with advanced on-board processing and networking features intended to let the network adapt, iterate and scale rapidly from orbit, rather than relying solely on fixed ground infrastructure. A network capable of reconfiguring itself in space offers an additional degree of operational flexibility, a characteristic that speaks directly to the continuity-of-communications requirements that public safety and critical infrastructure operators have long placed at the centre of their network planning.

"We're delivering a fundamental shift in communications by connecting 'elevated intelligence' directly from our network in space to mobile devices around the world," said Ramu Potarazu, Chief Executive Officer, Elveo. "The Elveo network will be able to process and adapt on orbit, enabling global interconnectivity, voice and data services, and compute power to mobile users."

Because Elveo's service is designed to work with mobile devices already in circulation, personnel and agencies operating in areas without cellular coverage would not need dedicated satellite terminals to remain reachable — a meaningful factor when connectivity has to be established quickly and at scale during an emergency. The network is being optimised for 5G and beyond as well as for non-terrestrial network (NTN) integration, with Elveo holding its own portfolio of spectrum intended to serve consumer, automotive, IoT and government users. While government-sector deployment is described only in broad terms at this stage, the coverage and continuity characteristics involved are ones that public safety and emergency management organisations continue to prioritise as they work to close persistent gaps in rural, remote and disaster-affected areas.

Elveo has commercial agreements in place with more than 50 mobile network operators and major distribution partners across more than 60 countries, underpinned by a multi-band licensed spectrum footprint. That degree of coordination across markets and regulatory regimes is intended to give the network redundancy and reach beyond what a single-market or single-band operator could offer, a factor that matters for cross-border public safety coordination as much as for commercial roaming.

The merger closed on 14 August 2026. Lynk Global and Omnispace's current investors include SES, Fortress, Stepstone, Columbia Capital, Telcom Ventures and Blazar Ventures. Guggenheim Securities acted as exclusive financial advisor to Lynk Global on the transaction.

Elveo's headquarters and technology centre will be based in the Washington, D.C. metro area, with operations extending across the world. Further information is available at Elveo.com.
