Connecting oil and gas facilities is notoriously challenging. Frequently, they are situated in extremely remote regions characterized by difficult terrain and severe weather.

A prominent telecommunications company and systems integrator, Saudi Net Link (SNL), is collaborating with Intelsat, operator of one of the largest integrated terrestrial and satellite networks, to provide capacity and services to a Saudi-based, globally integrated energy and chemicals company that is also one of the largest oil producers.

Connecting oil and gas facilities is notoriously challenging. Frequently, they are situated in extremely remote regions characterized by difficult terrain and severe weather. Nevertheless, dependable and perpetual connectivity is of the utmost importance in guaranteeing uninterrupted operations, consistent surveillance, and the well-being of personnel. Stable and uninterrupted connectivity to a GEO satellite is thus the optimal approach for completing this endeavor.

Oil producers depend on Intelsat for satellite quantity and network quality. By benefiting from an extensive selection of satellites, customers are afforded the flexibility to access superior communications solutions without the need to make concessions. The customer service and network resiliency of Intelsat guarantee that energy companies are never alone when they require assistance.

Mohamed Al Faisal, director of business development at Saudi Net Link, remarked, "This partnership with Intelsat not only satisfies our business needs but also satisfies the demand for personal connection in remote areas, bringing joy to remote workers in offshore locations and the deep deserts of Saudi Arabia."

It is imperative that the mining site teams possess the capability to expeditiously establish a makeshift workspace equipped with sufficient bandwidth to enable fundamental communication, data transfer, video streaming, and specialized applications that uphold business continuity. When exploration sites are accessible for a restricted duration, the expeditious implementation of a portable connectivity solution becomes even more significant.

"Connectivity is critical for completing tasks in a timely and secure manner," stated Saher Abudaqar, managing sales director for Intelsat in the Middle East and North Africa. "Intelsat and SNL will strive to deliver this service."
