A Raytheon Technologies subsidiary has launched a wearable device and SIM technology designed to help the military, government agencies and other organizations meet the communications and situational awareness needs of their workforce.

NexGenTrac Watch from Raytheon Blackbird Technologies uses the data service of NexGen Global SIM to deliver emergency signaling, mission-critical communications and personnel accountability and safety status, Raytheon said Tuesday.

“Today’s missions require secure and global connectivity for a remote workforce, and many organizations are challenged by expensive and complicated data plans,” said Troy Smith, director of Raytheon Blackbird Technologies.

Smith noted that NGT Watch combined with NexGen Global SIM could help customers address such challenges and could enable government and military organizations meet the safety protocols for their personnel deployed worldwide by delivering secure communications and situational awareness capabilities.
