Americas and EMEA Markets Key for Motorola Solutions

Motorola Solutions managed to sell three P25 systems in its home market (Oregon, Tennessee and New Jersey) for a total value of $157 MIO in Q3 and introduced the LXN 500 ultra-portable standalone LTE network.

Motorola Solutions, Inc. today reported its earnings results for the third quarter of 2017. The company also today announced that its board of directors has increased its regular quarterly dividend by 11 percent to 52 cents per share. The next quarterly dividend will be payable in cash on Jan. 12, 2018, to stockholders of record at the close of business on Dec. 15, 2017.

When we look at the sales of the company within the different regions, sales increased 7 percent overall from the year-ago quarter and grew 5 percent organically driven by the Americas region. Products segment sales grew 8 percent driven by the Americas and Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) regions. Besides that, Motorola's services segment grew 7 percent driven by the Americas, with global Managed & Support Services growth of 8 percent.

Revenue- P25 Sales

Motorola records that P25 (Project25) system sales are still going strong. Especially in the America's region. In Q3, the company managed to sell a $79 million 25 system serving three counties in Oregon, a $54 million P25 system for Memphis, Tennessee and $24 million order for a P25 system in Burlington, New Jersey.

Going forward, the company now expects revenue growth of approximately 5 percent versus the prior outlook of approximately 3 to 4 percent, and non-GAAP earnings per share now in the range of $5.35 to $5.40 versus the prior outlook of $5.20 to $5.30.

Public Safety LTE Innovation

As we have seen over the whole of 2017, innovation for Motorola Solutions is key in order to stay ahead of the competition. Therefore, to better support public safety end-users using LTE technology, in Q3 Motorola recently introduced a number of innovations to its portfolio. One of these innovations is the PSX Application Suite providing push-to-talk, messaging and mapping applications designed specifically for public safety LTE users. The company also announced the LXN 500 ultra-portable standalone LTE network. This network can provide coverage and public safety applications in remote locations during emergencies.
