Blijdorp Zoo Picks DAMM, Motorola Solutions & Swissphone to Secure Safety for Employees and Visitors

The largest Zoo in The Netherlands has again given Flash Private Mobile Networks the task to deliver a critical communications solution that meets the demand of today.

To be able to guarantee the safety of both visitors and employees even better, Blijdorp Zoo, the largest Zoo in the Netherlands, has opted for a new DAMM TETRA system with 130 Motorola MTP3500 TETRA radios.

In addition, Blijdorp will continue to use the previously supplied Swissphone paging network with Swissphone X35 pagers. These two systems are operated via one well-arranged dashboard, Flash Smart Control.

Communication and alerting is essential for the Zoo, because with more than 1.5 million visitors a year, it is one of the most visited attractions in The Netherlands.

During a calamity, every second counts. Thanks to location positioning within the Flash Smart Control dashboard, it is always clear which employee is where, so that in the event of an emergency, the nearest employee always can be detected.

As a communication expert based in Rotterdam, Flash PMN supports the Rotterdam Zoo for many years. Since the start of the collaboration back in 2016, Giraffe Cristel has been adopted by Flash. What not many people know is that giraffes communicate in different and quite unique ways; in particular by means of infrasonic communication at an inaudibly low noise level.
