Federal Engineering Announces Additional Utah 911 Audit Contract

Central Utah 911, located in Spanish Fork, Utah, has awarded Federal Engineering, Inc. (FE) a project to perform an independent audit of policies, procedures, transfer rates, and operations and make recommendations to reduce transfer rates. State law says that a Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) shall maintain a transfer rate of no more than 2%. The deadline to achieve this rate was set as June 30, 2024.

Ms. Heidi Healy, Central Utah 911’s Executive Director, described the project:

“Central Utah 911 will benefit from Federal Engineering’s unique combination of subject matter expertise, local experience, and broad range of PSAP systems experience. Federal Engineering will provide the following services:

• Perform an audit to determine if we meet the 2% transfer rate and if not, what needs to be done to achieve this rate.
• Recommend how to improve emergency services within the County.
• Determine the extent to which the dispatch center’s policies, procedures, and interlocal agreements cause a PSAP to experience difficulty in meeting the requirements.”

Federal Engineering’s Mr. Donald Nagle, Vice President of the NG911/ECC Practice, said:

“FE’s team will focus on Central Utah 911’s needs and establish a baseline project management process that centers on collaboration, open communications, consensus building, and the minimization of risks. We will work closely with Central Utah 911’s project manager to efficiently execute the project. We will participate in regularly scheduled conference calls with Central Utah 911’s project team, during which status, schedule, submittals, action items, and other issues will be discussed.”
