Earlier this year a radio coverage project for the tunnels of Nice’s new tramway line T2 was awarded to SEE Telecom by Métropole Nice Côte d’Azur.

With a total length of 11,3 km, 20 stations, 3,2 km tunnels and 4 underground stations under Nice’s old center, the T2 line will cross the metropolitan area along an East/West axis.

In order to to ensure security and efficient operation, SEE Telecom will enhance the radio coverage of public safety networks, local police and urban transporation company network thanks to its multi-services radio covarge system and leaky feeders.

Métropole Nice Côte d’Azur was convinced by SEE Telecom’s experience and proposed solutions to reach 2 main objectives of the project :

  • Total safety inside the tunnels and the underground stations to avoid human catastrophs;
  • Total efficiency with a target of a tramway train every 3 minutes

The inauguration of this new line is scheduled in March 2019.
